Arabian Business joined the passengers taking the ride on the first Dubai Metro train, early morning on Thursday.

The sense of joy, excitement and historic significance was evident among the passengers as Arabian Business moved between the carriages of one of the best Metro networks in the world.

Men and women, Emiratis and expats all seemed to savour their first moments of the journey, while a lot of them captured these on cameras and cell phones, some chose to rely just on their inward eye.

To fill up all those empty seats they will need to drop the fare prices

I bet half of those people got on the Metro just to see what it was like to ride on the new metro. Reality will set in to see if people actually use it on a daily basis for their method of transportation and unless it is economical for them to do so I can't see the majority of the people in Dubai switching over to public transport.

Aside from that the new metro looks great. Here in Asia that metro is so packed that when the doors close people inside are like a can of sardines.
