Any Bahrain school which has a confirmed case of swine flu will be closed down for a week, education officials have said.

Dr Mariam Harmas Al Hajeri, Health Ministry school health coordinator, told the Gulf Daily News that official plans to prevent H1N1 spread also extend to common flu viruses.

She told the paper that any school where at least 10 percent of pupils are found to have flu symptoms will be closed down for seven days to protect pupils and create an “incubation buffer against any potential swine flu cases.”
