“Dubai still leads the Gulf in terms of overall volume of jobs, but now accounts for only 30 percent of advertised jobs – a 13 percent decline from 2008,” the statement said.

The number of jobs advertised in Abu Dhabi rose by nine percent in the first half of the year, and now account for 23 percent of all advertised jobs in the GCC, according to the company.

Qatar’s advertised jobs also rose by nine percent, taking their share of the market to 13 percent.

Meanwhile, in Oman, the number of advertised jobs increased by two percent, to take their share of Gulf jobs to three percent.

However, Bahrain and Kuwait both saw the number of advertised jobs drop by three percent, taking their market shares to four percent and seven percent respectively.
