H1N1 facility opened at Abu Dhabi hospital – paper

A dedicated H1N1 isolation ward complete with quarantine facilities was opened this week in Abu Dhabi, according to a report.
Brigadier General Salem Saleh Al Junaibi, Head of the Abu Dhabi Police Medical Services Department, announced the opening of the facilities at the Specialised polyclinics, according to the Gulf News.
The official, who was speaking at a press conference said that the disease in itself is not dangerous, with increasing awareness and cooperation between the public and the authorities.
He said that patients returning H1N1 positive are usually referred to one of the hospitals directly under the Health Authority Abu Dhabi (HAAD) to receive medical attention.
The interior ministry has formed a committee to work along with the H1N1 Supervisory Committee to ensure additional services, Gulf News reported.
