Cargo was up 6.2 percent and passenger movements up 2.5 percent, compared to 10.3 percent in July.
The company said in a statement that the increase in aircraft movements was sue to the “significant number of new airlines establishing routes from Abu Dhabi in the previous 12 months, as well as established carriers launching new routes.”
Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national airline carrier, has launched new routes to Athens, Istanbul and Larnaca, as well as a service to Chicago.

A total of 200,607 passengers travelled to the top five destinations, ADAC said. London was the most popular destination with 51,757 passengers, then Bangkok with 38,828 passengers.
