Several international firms have submitted bids for an Omani consultation contract for building an airport on the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a tender board official said on Sunday.
The bidders include US firm AECOM Technology Corp, Canada's SNC Lavalin and British firm WS Atkins, the official said.
The deadline for bid submission is Oct. 12, he said, without giving further details.
The construction tender for the airport at Musandam will be offered in the first quarter of 2010. The terminal is designed to handle 100,000 passengers per year and would start operations in 2012. (Reuters)
