Pilots and cabin crew came to blows on an international flight from the UAE to India, it has been reported.
The scuffle is reported to have begun as an argument in the plane's cockpit over claims of sexual harassment but spilled into the galley, media reports said.
One pilot and one air hostess suffered bruises, as punches were thrown.
The incident took place over Pakistan on an Air India flight from the UAE to Delhi, with 106 passengers and seven crew on board.
Indian police are said to be investigating the incident, which took place early on Saturday morning.
The cabin crew alleged that pilots sexually harassed a 24-year-old air hostess, who a filed a complaint once the plane landed.
But the Times of India newspaper said the pilots made a counter-claim, saying that the harassment claim was an attempt to divert attention from accusations of misconduct against a male flight attendant.
Air India said it had ordered an inquiry into the incident, and had grounded all the staff involved.

Mani, do you have ANY knowledge about India?? U ''wouldnt trust them to open an envelope''? ''Once third world, always third world''? Wake up dude- India is now one of the fastest growing economies and developing countries in the world. If u ever ventured to learn about the country u'd know it excels in many areas not achieved by other ''developed'' nations: medicine, IT, research of various kinds, etc etc. Plus dont forget for a country of over a billion ppl, its an achievement for it to be standing on its own feet entirely.

Well said Obelisk.
Seems some ppl enjoy turning topics into racist issues, with others jumping on the bandwagon. Most sad in my opinion is when ppl badmouth their own country's carrier. Nothing is perfect: not carriers, not services, not ppls attitudes- and thats everywhere- but thats no reason to diss your own country. Yes it was unprofessional, and unprofessional conduct by cabin crew is commonplace in many airlines.
Kevin if ur making a dig at ppl whose native language is not English, why not try going to India and communicating in their native language? At least they make an effort.

I'm not sure who is the idiot.
They are called hamburgers in Saudi supermarkets -with the "a"- and a reader who wrote, in the early '90's to a Saudi paper religious affairs question section asking if it was ok to eat them was, effectively, called an idiot by the learned imam who wrote the long and detailed response that pointed out, among other things that the name of a certain German town is, nowhere, proscribed in any of the sacred texts......
As my children would say: "duh!"
