Today Arabtec Construction is one of the five largest contractors in the MENA region and specializes in building and civil engineering works and its name has become a household name in the construction industry in the Gulf states. It has over 70,000 employees on its payroll and has been involved in world class developments such as Burj Dubai and Burj Al Arab in Dubai. The Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi, and the Okhta Centre Tower in St. Petersburg.

In the 12 months to July 2008, under Makhzoumi’s financial leadership, the company’s share price on the DFM rose a staggering 260% - and is now worth nearly $3 billion.
