A new report has ranked the website of UAE property developer Emaar Properties as the most informative corporate site in the Gulf region.

The report, by Hallvarsson & Hallvarsson (H&H), analysed the performance of 85 publicly listed Gulf firms, based on an annual survey of business journalists, analysts and investors who identified what information and functionality they valued most from listed companies’ corporate websites.

The report listed Emaar Properties, the biggest real estate developer in the region, as having the most informative website with 34.25 points, followed by the Abu Dhabi National Energy Company with 33.75 and Zain in third position with 33.5. Other high fliers included Abu Dhabi-based developer Sorouh, Hikma Pharmaceuticals, SABIC and Gulf Finance House.

Gulf websites are particularly good at providing general company information, technology and front page but lack financial information, corporate governance and financial calendar, according to the report.

The award just goes to state how bad the other web sites are...if Emaar's website could win the award which itself is very poor, the other website are worse....but not sure of what the selection process is!
