Hotel group eyes 33,000 new jobs in MENA

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) is set to employ an extra 33,000 staff as part of an expansion plan in the MENA region, it has been reported.
The company said it was on the hunt for the new staff to work in its hotels in the region over the next three years as it plans to open a further 49 hotels, equating to nearly 14,000 rooms, HotelNewsNow reported.
IHG said there would be vacancies for staff at all levels and in all areas of these hotels including roles for general managers, as well as in food and beverage and sales and marketing.
IHG has 71 hotels in the Middle East with plans to open a further 37 new hotels, and 17 hotels in Africa with an additional 12 hotels opening in the next three years.
The hotels opening include InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Hotel Indigo and Staybridge Suites.
