Emirates Airline is pressing the US planemaker Boeing to develop a new long-range jet that can be used on the carrier’s Dubai to Los Angeles route, it has been reported.
According to a report by Zawya Dow Jones, the Dubai-based carrier’s president said on Sunday the airline was pressing Boeing to develop its 777 aircraft.
"We've been in dialogue with Boeing for almost four years about this, but recently we felt that the impetus from Boeing to improve the 777 extended range had slowed," Tim Clark told the news agency during a telephone interview.
"We continue to remind them that we want an improvement to the extended range per se, or a new airplane."
Emirates currently operates a Boeing 777-200 LR (long range) nonstop from Dubai to LA, but says the aircraft is inefficient, the news agency reported.

Instead of asking for modification for the 777s why don't you get their other Long Ranged or ERs planes?
Like the B747-400ER? or get more B777-200LR?
Why don't you plane on studying Biofuel like Air New Zealand did?
Air New Zealand are now running test and already got positive results on using BIOFUEL on their B747-400, they save many tons on fuel.
or use the A380 to LAX or wait for B787

Good One Tim! Get Boeing to do what you want .... but you will be waiting along time for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner!!
That airliner will eventually eliminate Toxic Air Syndrome for crew and passengers as it does not use 'bleed-air' for the air-conditioning!
In the meantime why not persuade the oil companies to remove the "TCP's" in their engine oils. These are toxins in the oil that get ingested through the 'bleed-air' systems and thus in to the air-conditioning systems of the current commercial jets. These toxins attack the neurological systems of the human body, affecting the body in many different ways. The worst symptoms are similar to MS.
By substituting the current engine oils with those that don't have the toxins we will are not going to be poisoned each time we fly. So, TC, if you can lean on Boeing for your requirements why not do your passengers a favour and get the oil firms to comply as well ?

That flight is the worst in the world and is simply too long for human beings. You get spaced out and disoriented, even before hitting the fizz. EK should think again and look at hubs, because they will never make money on that flight because of all the crew required for changes, reduced cargo loads and old generation engines.
