Riffa Views MEP contract awarded

Bahrain-based electro-mechanical contractor Alkomed Engineering Services has won a US $21 million (BHD8 million) contract to provide infrastructure services to the city’s Riffa Views project.

The $66 million project will occupy around 2.1 million m2 within Bahrain. It is scheduled to include approximately 900 luxury villas, a retail shopping centre, school, health club, golf club and recreational parks. Phase I of the project was launched in December 2005.

Cybarco and Tabet are acting as the main contractor on the scheme under a joint venture.

Alkomed Engineering Services was previously awarded an enabling works package on the Riffa Views project valued at $5.8 million. The firm acted as main contractor on the scheme for this package.

Riffa Views is the result of investment by Bahrain-based bank Arcapita, the developer behind Victory heights in Dubai Sports City and a new residential and commercial waterfront in Bahrain.
