GITEX Technology Week opens for business on Sunday, with over 3,000 companies from 65 countries represented throughout the new, expanded exhibition space.
The show, now in its 29th year, features a range of new and enhanced features and facilities, to provide a world class forum for the region's ICT industry, as it looks to strong growth ahead.
Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO of Dubai World Trade Centre, said: "GITEX Technology Week has become one of the world's top three ICT exhibitions, having serviced the dynamic Middle East market for the past 29 years.
"This year the show has risen to be the pivotal forum in rallying industry leaders and government bodies from around the world to come together to further boost market confidence and exchange ideas on opportunities that will present themselves in the coming months and years," he added.
Among the highlights of this year's GITEX is an exclusive keynote presentation by Steven Guggenheimer, Corporate OEM Vice President of Microsoft, taking place today, that will give the region's executives an advanced look at Windows 7.
The show also includes an expanded Global Conference, with over 40 sessions around the theme of ‘Defining the Value of IT in a Challenging Economy'.
The financial sector is represented at GITEX, with the co-hosting of MEFX, supported by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
This year also sees a major expansion to the facilities at Dubai International Convention and Exhibitions Centre, with the opening of the new Sheikh Saeed Halls.
The new halls play host to the Consumer Electronics section of the show, which will use the extra floorspace to present a ‘Smart Home Smart Office' concept to showcase the latest in smart living technologies, along with a new in-car entertainment area and the Xbox 360 Gaming Zone.

Finally a decent show that you can spend the entire day at and one that will make me forget about bad attempts like that Big Boys Toys nonsense in Abu Dhabi and that Nitro show. There's 100 bucks I wont see again.
I cant wait to pick up some new stuff at GITEX!
