DANCE FESTIVAL: Creamfields has become one of the world's best known music festivals.

Legendary UK dance festival Creamfields is bringing its brand to Abu Dhabi in December, organisers announced on Monday.

Flash Entertainment said that on December 11, the UAE capital will become the exclusive regional host city of the world famous dance event.

For one night only, Abu Dhabi will offer up some of the world’s most renowned and sought-after dance DJs performing across multiple arenas and stages to a crowd of thousands.

Commenting on bringing Creamfields to Abu Dhabi, John Lickrish, managing director of Flash Entertainment said: “To be staging the capital's first multi-stage outdoor dance festival is tremendously exciting not only for Flash, but also for music fans across the region. Not only this, we are bringing out the very best with such a respected brand as Creamfields."

Creamfields is the ultimate dance festival with a globally recognised brand and a worldwide following, he said.

"We will be offering up an unprecedented line up of the best international DJs to a hungry crowd who are used to seeing their favourite dance DJs play sets in the region but never together in an event on this scale. Hosting Creamfields Abu Dhabi will ensure that the city instantly becomes recognised as a key destination on the dance festival circuit and we are proud to be making this happen.”

The Creamfields festival was launched in the UK in 1998 and is the world’s leading outdoor electronic music festival.

Flash said it was still working on the specific plans for the event, which would be announced at a later date.

James Barton, CEO of Cream Group who started the festival in the UK, added: “It’s great to be partnering with Flash who like us are passionate about developing the music scene and producing events that make a huge impact on the local audience and the city itself.”

Creamfields continues to be in the top five festivals in the UK alongside the likes of Glastonbury, V and Reading.

It set out to provide the clubbing world with a bespoke large scale outdoor event and has gone on to become the most popular and renowned open air electronic music festival in the world.

I'm assuming Grooverider won't be headlining the drum'n'bass tent.

I agree with R Aver - I can't imagine total strangers hugging and saying that they love each other in Abu Dhabi.

People seem so much friendlier at similar events in the UK and I can't for the life of me think of the reason why this is.
