A valet parking service has been launched at Abu Dhabi International Airport for travellers departing from Terminal 1.

The service, announced on Tuesday by Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), costs AED40 ($10.88) for the first hour and AED20 ($5.44) for each additional hour, the firm said in a statement.

A tariff for long-term parking will be introduced in the next seven days, the firm said.

“Customers wishing to make use of the new premium parking service can follow the signs through to the clearly marked valet parking reception, where they are met by a valet receptionist who will arrange for the vehicle to be transferred to the parking area. The valet will also arrange for the vehicle to be returned curbside for a quick departure when the customer is ready to leave,” the statement said.

The service, by ADAC subsidiary Abu Dhabi Hospitality Company (ADHC), has been introduced to help elderly travellers and people who cannot walk long distances.

“Family groups or individuals traveling during the weekend can take advantage of the short-term parking without the worry of transporting their luggage form the parking lot to the terminal,” ADAC said.
