The US Navy seized four tonnes of hashish, with an estimated street value of $28m, from a boat off the coast of Oman.
The warship Anzio spotted the skiff about 170 miles southwest of Salalah, in waters the American forces call the ‘Hash Highway’, during anti-piracy patrols last week.
The boarding team destroyed the drugs and related paraphernalia by throwing it over the side of the boat.

No one on board the skiff was taken into custody, the Navy said.
Rear Admiral Scott Sanders said in a news release: “The seizure of these drugs takes money out of the hands of those financing terrorists in the region.”
