Emirates Airlines is the UAE’s favourite brand, according to the latest brand index published on Thursday by regional pollster YouGov Siraj.
The Dubai-based airline climbed three places to grab the top spot from technology heavyweight Nokia, which dropped to second place and was followed by Google and Sony.
Four of the brands that made the list in the third quarter belonged to the auto industry, reflecting the country’s love for cars.
Majid Al Futtaim’s Mall of the Emirates was the only other home-grown brand remaining in the index after Deira City Centre was pushed out.
YouGov Siraj’s BrandIndex gathers the views of 750 UAE and Saudi consumers online each fortnight, across 200 brands.
Quality, general impression, value for money, corporate reputation, satisfaction and likeliness to recommend were the six profile indicators used to measure the health of brand equity, it said.
The top ten rankings in full with index scores were: Emirates (72), Nokia (71), Google (68), Sony (65), Toyota (57), Mercedes (56), Microsoft (55), BMW (53), Mall of the Emirates (49), Lexus (45).
