Underworld and Calvin Harris, two of the world’s most popular dance acts, will headline the Creamfields Abu Dhabi festival next month, it was reported on Wednesday.
Organisers said Underworld will top the bill on December 11 while electronic musician Harris, who has produced records for Kylie Minogue and collaborated with Dizzee Rascal for a number one hit in the UK last year, will also be performing live at the festival, UAE daily The National reported.
They will be joined by six other acts including Erick Morillo, Sasha, Deadmau5 and Sebastian Leger, the paper added.
John Lickrish, the managing director of the event’s host, Flash Entertainment, told the paper he was “very excited” about bringing such talent to the capital.
The Creamfields festival was launched in the UK in 1998 and is the world’s leading outdoor electronic music festival.
It continues to be in the top five festivals in the UK alongside the likes of Glastonbury, V and Reading.
It set out to provide the clubbing world with a bespoke large scale outdoor event and has gone on to become the most popular and renowned open air electronic music festival in the world.
Underworld's best-known track was Born Slippy, which was the soundtrack for hit movie Trainspotting in 1996.
Regular tickets, priced at AED495 ($135), and AED995 VIP passes go on sale on Wednesday.
