Sony’s new Z610i handset features a strong focus on aesthetic design.

Sony Ericsson has launched its stylish new Z610i 3G handset in the Middle East.

The stylish clamshell handset features an external mirror finish and an internal ‘magic mirror’ display that illuminates when a call or SMS/MMS message is received by the user.

The Z610i boasts an advanced feature set including a two-megapixel camera and broadbandspeed 3G connectivity.

It is available in black, pink and blue external finishes.

“The unique design of the Z610i is inspired by nature,” claimed Husni El-Assi, general manager of Sony Ericsson, Middle East and North Africa. “We have applied a mirror finish and used a hidden display for the first time.

“0LED technology has enabled us to develop a display that doesn’t interrupt the reflective qualities of the phone’s exterior surface. Given that the Z610i is also a highly-specified device, it appeals to designconscious consumers that require a phone for every day use.”

Other key features of the handset include a Picture Blog application that allows the user to share photographs with friends and family instantly by uploading images directly to a website.

Sony Ericsson claims the Z610i’s 3G capability, coupled with its large two-inch screen, makes video calling and accessing the Internet a simple task. It also includes support for push email and RSS feeds that deliver the latest news updates direct to the handset.

The Z610i also includes support for Memory Stick Micro (M2), which is available in storage capacity up to 1GB, providing storage for around 2,800 pictures of two-megapixel quality.
