The UAE has slapped a temporary ban on sheep and goat products from Kazakhstan, the WAM news agency reported.
Dr Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, on Tuesday ordered a temporary ban on import of various types of sheep and goats and their products from the former Soviet republic.
The ban is due to the appearance of chicken pox disease in sheep and goats from Kazakhstan.
The order also includes any sheep, goats and their products being transported through the UAE, WAM reported.
The decision was based on information received from the World Organization for Animal Health.
