Al Jaber Aviation (AJA) has signed a ten-year deal to provide VIP aviation services from Al Bateen Executive Airport in Abu Dhabi.
The agreement makes AJA the largest tenant to sign up at Al Bateen, the region’s only dedicated private aviation airport, since management of the facility was taken over by the government-owned Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC).
“The deal is a clear indication of the growing importance of VIP and private aviation in the UAE capital, as well as the position Abu Dhabi, as a whole, is building as a key destination for VIP and executive travel,” said Huraiz Al Mur bin Huraiz, ADAC’s chief commercial officer.
In September 2006, ADAC assumed responsibility for the operation and management of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain International Airports. And in 2008, ADAC added Al Bateen Executive Airport and Sir Bani Yas and Delma Island Airports to its portfolio.
AJA, meanwhile, is part of the Al Jaber Group, the nation's largest employer and owner of the country's largest fleet of machinery, heavy cranes and vessels. The Al Jaber Group has a wide range of interests in transportation, logistics, manufacturing and construction.
“Basing AJA at Al Bateen will help us continue to deliver world-class services to our elite guests with fast-on-fast-off processing; an advantage that we could not obtain in other international or larger airports in the region,” said Dr Mark Pierotti, COO at AJA.
