Oman’s economy to grow 6.1% in 2010 - minister

Oman’s Minister of Economy, Ahmed Bin Abdulnabi Macki, forecasts that the sultanate’s economy will grow 6.1 percent in 2010, the Ministry of National Economy said on its website, according to Bloomberg.
Oman’s economy grew to OR18.5bn ($48.1bn) in 2009 from OR7.5bn in 2000, the ministry cited Macki as saying.
Oman will continue to maintain its currency peg to the dollar, and expects economic growth to rise to 6 percent in 2010, the Gulf country's central bank head, Executive President Hamood Sangour Al Zadjali, said on Tuesday, according to newswire Reuters.
