Sony Ericsson W950

Sony Ericsson has extended its family of Walkman phones throughout the region with the launch of the W950i. The phone is an ultra-slim and stylish UMTS-enabled device with a touch screen for easier navigation. Its thin, sleek and compact form is finished in purple fingerprint-proof matte with orange details, while the keypad is flush with the surface. A graphic-rich interface on the Walkman player makes it easy to navigate around the music library by song, artist or playlist, the firm claims. Users can search visually by browsing through album covers using the stylus and touch screen. The music player can hold up to 4,000 songs thanks to its 4Gbyte storage capacity. The W950 also enables the user to multi-task between listening to music, SMS texting, e-mailing and browsing the internet. The phone is based on the new Symbian v9.1 and UIQ 3.0 platform, supported by a number of third-party applications. These applications are available to download from the Sony Ericsson Application Shop, an online catalogue that is stocked directly by third-party developers.
