KGL Logistics takes stock with warehouse solution
by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer on Thursday, 25 January 2007
KGL Logistics has deployed an automated warehouse management system from Manhattan Associates.
The system gives the Kuwait-based logistics provider numerous benefits, an executive at the company said, including enabling it and its customers to monitor items throughout the transportation process.
"Today I might have medical equipment, tomorrow I might have furniture. At any different time, we might receive a product that we have never dealt with in the past, but it is very easy for us to manage it by using Manhattan Associates' software," Dany Harfouche, chief operating officer at KGL Logistics Kuwait told IT Weekly.
He said KGL would be the first company of its kind to use software from Manhattan Associates in the region.
KGL Logistics, a subsidiary of KGL Group, paid approximately US$700,000 for the software, Harfouche said, but the final value of the contract could be higher.
