Wipro Infotech has announced the formation of ‘Wipro Arabia' following a joint venture with Saudi Arabia's Dar Al Riyadh Group. The venture will offer an extensive range of IT solutions including application development and management, package implementation and systems integration.
Prince Turki A. Abfulrahman, CEO at Dar Al Riyadh Group, said: "We have been committed to delivering best-of-breed IT solutions to our customers in Saudi Arabia with the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. This joint venture is another significant step in that direction." He added: "It has been our business philosophy since inception to combine local knowledge with leading international partnerships to bring value to our customers."
According to IDC, the Saudi IT services market is worth almost US$800m after growing 13% last year. Wipro and Dar Al Riyadh hope their alliance will lead them to secure a greater share of the market.
"The highly efficient operating model enabled by the JV provides business scalability and strong customer centricity in our operations in the region," commented Rajat Mathur, chief executive for international operations at Wipro Infotech.
