Bids in for Bahrain water contract

Bahrain's Nass Industrial Services and Qatar's Panorama Contracting & Engineering have placed bids for the contract to install water transmission facilities for Durrat Al Bahrain, Amwaj Islands and South Elba Developments.
According to a statement by the Bahrain Tender Board, the lowest bid of US $10.3 million (BD 3.9 million) was placed by Panorama Contracting and Engineering, while Nass Industrial Services, a division of the Nass Corporation, made an offer of $18.3 million.
Infrastructure works on seven of the islands that will make up the $3 billion Durrat Al Bahrain are nearing completion, and villas of the first phase of the project are expected to be ready by the end of this year.
Construction contracts worth more than $210 million have so far been handed out on the project, and mainly to Bahraini companies.
The $1.5 billion Amwaj Islands project is being developed by Ossis Property Developers.
Projects on the development include Abu Dhabi Investment House's Lagoon Bahrain.
