Emirates to arm itself with e-tender portal

by ArabianBusiness.com staff writer  on Thursday, 08 March 2007

The UAE Armed Forces General Headquarters (GHQ) is to launch a e-tendering portal to enhance efficiency.

The portal will also improve the speed and transparency of procurement process and bring the system up to international standards, according to GHQ.

Systems integrator Itqan implemented BiP Solutions’ Delta electronic tendering suite of applications for the armed forces, and at a press conference announcing the deal last month the integrator said the portal would go live “soon”. Itqan said the system would provide high-quality information and services to the GHQ Purchasing Directorate by modernising its purchasing and supply, and reducing paperwork.
