Major merger

Two of the UK’s four largest tour operators, MyTravel and Thomas Cook, have agreed to merge. The parent company of the new venture, the Thomas Cook Group, will be headquartered in the UK. The merger will see Thomas Cook AG’s 33 tour operating brands, 2400 travel agencies, 66 aircraft and almost 20,000 staff join forces with MyTravel’s 17 brands, 31 aircraft and 13,000 staff.
