Almost 99 percent of companies and establishments in Bahrain have conformed to the afternoon outdoor work ban which prohibits labourers to work from noon to 4pm, revealed the Minister of Labour and Social Development Jameel Humaidan.

The official said the record compliance rate, which has been praised by international organisations, reflects Bahrain’s respect and consideration of human rights, reported Bahrain News Agency.

Humaidan highlighted the importance of enhanced cooperation between the Ministry of Labour and the private sector in order to avoid industrial accidents.

The Labour Ministry had sent a specialised team to 10,053 work sites during ban hours to make regular surprise inspection visits. It reported 106 violations.
