Al-Futtaim Motors, exclusive distributor of Toyota in the UAE, said on Monday it has signed a contract with Dubai Taxi Corporation for 1,638 new vehicles.

Under the agreement, the car dealer will supply hundreds of new Toyota Camry and Innova vehicles to DTC.

Jon Williams, managing director of Al-Futtaim Motors, said: "We are honoured to have been awarded over 90 percent of Dubai Taxi Corporation's newest tender.

"This demonstrates the trust that our partners have in the quality of our vehicles and the dedicated customer service we provide on a daily basis."

Toyota Camry and Innova will now make up 85 percent of the total DTC fleet, he added

Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan, CEO of Licensing Agency Roads Transport Authority, said: "This new deal further reinforces the partnership between DTC and the biggest automotive distributor in the UAE.

"Working with Al-Futtaim Motors has always delivered significant benefits such as having durable and economical cars that enjoy excellent total cost of ownership and high resale value... we look forward to continuing this partnership over the coming years."
