We the undersigned respectfully call upon all hotels, restaurants and bars in the GCC states to ensure that staff in their establishments are given 100 percent of the tips gifted to them by customers.

We believe that when a tip is given it is given in the belief that is a reward for good, attentive service. It is meant as a supplement to a worker’s wages – not as a way for employers to subsidise operational costs (particularly without customers’ consent).

We believe this practice should be stamped out immediately, and call for hotels, restaurants and bars in the GCC countries to endorse the Arabian Business’ Trust The Tip campaign.
