A 27-year old British bride, on honeymoon in Dubai, is believed to have fallen to her death from a hotel room.
Abbie Emmett, a vicar’s daughter, died in the emirate on February 19, just days after arriving in the UAE with her new husband following their wedding in South Africa, the UK's Daily Mail reported.
A Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed the death and said it is “providing consular assistance to the family at this difficult time”.
It is not yet known which hotel the couple was staying at or the circumstances surrounding her death but Emmett is reported to have fallen out of a window. Dubai Police are investigating the incident.
Emmett married Sean Emmett, a former professional Grand Prix motorcycle racer, in Cape Town two weeks ago.
