ComGuard has been appointed as the distributor for network security vendor Cyberoam's appliances in Oman, Qatar, Pakistan and Kuwait.
Cyberoam claims that its has joined with ComGuard to take advantage of the distributor's vast reach and channel strength as it looks to step up its business in the commercial market.
"ComGuard offers value added IT security products to its customers and our partnership with Cyberoam will strengthen our efforts by enabling us to provide next generation network security solutions to them," said Ajay Singh Chauhan, CEO at the distributor.
"Cyberoam will not only enhance our product portfolio but also increase our customer goodwill as our customers will now be able to leverage the benefits of advanced technology for their security needs," added Chauhan.
The appointment of ComGuard is in line with Cyberoam's recent push to up its presence and business in the Middle East, which culminated with the appointment of Surender Bishnoi as head of channel sales for the region and with its plans to open a regional office in Dubai.
Cyberoam's vice president of new business development, Harish Chib, claims enterprises in the Middle East are beginning to take network security seriously as concerns over data leakage, hacking and compliance have come to the fore.
"Last year, the Middle East observed a 35% growth in its IT security spending, falling at second position in the world ranking. Cyberoam thus saw a huge potential in the IT security market of the Middle East," proclaimed Chib. "Our tie-up with a leading distributor like ComGuard will enable us to consolidate our position in the network security market and help us achieve our financial targets for this region."
Meanwhile, ComGuard's sister company Spectrum will be responsible for training Cyberoam's Middle East resellers on the vendor's latest technology.
