Chinese mobile brand Alcatel has launched the world’s first interactive LED-covered smartphone in the UAE.
The A5 LED, which is targeted at young consumers, delivers such new features as light-up notifications and unique LED cover patterns and themes that users can personalise.
For example, the phone allows its users to light up their notifications with different light shows for incoming calls, messages, alarms and social media alerts.
Some light shows even move with music tunes and can be switched on with a simple shake.
The phone, which has a large 5.2 inch HD display, also boasts enhanced multimedia experiences and different ways of taking and sharing selfies, according to Ruediger Odenbach, Vice President at Alcatel Middle East & Africa.
It has a 5 MP front camera with selfie flash that allows for brighter selfies in low light.
It comes with Face Beauty software for “flawless images” and Face Show, which lets users turn their selfies into personalised video clips, according to Alcatel.
There is also a 13 MP rear camera with dual-tone flash. In addition, the phone features Private Mode, which has a different sign-in to protect private photos and apps.
The Alcatel A5 LED is designed in a slim profile and rounded edges. It will be available in the UAE from mid-August starting at $244 (AED899).
Hong Kong-based Alcatel is a trademark of Nokia used under license by TCL Communication.
