Giving your sounds some serious muscle is all down to kitting yourself out with a powerful amplifier.

This PMA-700AE amplifier model from UK hi-fi specialists Denon offers two channels rated at 85 watts each, solidly built with a heavyweight power supply.

This music machine comes with an infra red remote for mobile listeners but Denon provides a nifty array of controls on the front panel so you’ll still be able to enjoy quality music even when the battery of your remote runs out.

You’ll have fun reaching the input source selector, which has options for minidisc, Phono, CD, Tuner, CD-R and DVD.
