Emaar Hospitality Group has announced the opening of its Dubai Marina Yacht Club.

The clubhouse, designed by architects Hirsch Bedner Associates Design Consultants and located along the Dubai Marina canal, will provide boat-owners with membership while the public will be able to access marine-themed restaurants and retail outlets.

Billed as the port authority for all operations and berthing along the 3.5km Dubai Marina canal the Dubai Marina Yacht Club will cater to over 500 yachts from 10 to 35 metres in length.

Steve Stiglbauer, general manager, said: "Dubai Marina Yacht Club is the first marine club in the extensive portfolio of Emaar and is our contribution to the rich marine sports heritage of the region. The club will drive the marine sports and leisure industry of Dubai and serve as the ultimate destination for marine enthusiasts and boat owners. The diverse array of specially tailored facilities for boat owners will greatly add to their convenience and make marine pursuits easier than ever before."

He added: "The Dubai Marina Yacht Club also welcomes non-members. Apart from restaurants that offer spectacular waterfront views, the Club looks forward to familiarizing them with the Marina-based lifestyle and inspiring them to be active participants in marine pastimes."

A marine retail arcade, a yacht sales office, a yachting fashion boutique and a nautical gift shop will all open within the club. Added features include a 116-berth private marina and a waterfront café.

Guests can also embark on the Athena Dubai, a 13-metre American-built charter yacht for offshore meetings and parties. Plans for next year include the opening of a modern boat repair facility.
