Dubai one of world's romance capitals - survey

British couples in the mood for love are looking to spend the upcoming Valentine's Day weekend on a romantic break in Dubai, according to a survey.

The glitzy Gulf emirate was voted the sixth favourite city for British couples looking to get away for Valentine’s Day, according to the results of the poll conducted on behalf of Gatwick Airport.

The survey found that round 476,000 passengers are expected to pass through the terminals of the UK's second largest airport this weekend.

Bizarrely, typically romance hot spots Paris, Rome and Venice did not feature in the rankings.

Topping the table was the Swiss city of Geneva, followed by Amsterdam, Edinburgh, Barcelona and Grenoble. Filling out the top ten were Belfast, Dublin, Tenerife and Bridgetown.

Dubai also ranked highly on a global list by TripAdvisor with its Al Maha Desert Resort was ranked 8 on a global list of the most romantic hotels.

But remember - whilst in Dubai on your so called "Romantic Getaway" stay clear of holding hands with your loved one or you can end up in jail... - enjoy your romantic break in Dubai!!!

but we already know that UAE is the country with the highest risky for Brits to be arrested - according to their own foreign services.
And this article is referring to British couples only.
it would makes sense to change the heading as it has little meaning and it definitely is not true that Dubai is a WORLD romance capital.
Although I admit that Al Maha is a very romantic place with a lot of tolerance :-)
