Elabelz, the UAE-based online fashion retailer, said it has started shipping to Iraq to be the first player in the country's e-commerce market.
The company said in a statement that it has developed a customised solution of delivery and payment for its customers in Iraq.
Elabelz was launched in Dubai in May and soon expanded into Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar before its move into the untapped Iraqi market.
Nooruldeen Agha, CEO, said she foresees strong prospects and phenomenal growth for e-commerce and the development of the online buying trend in the Middle East.
“Amid the tremendous welcome we got from our respected clients in the GCC region, Iraq was the next hot cake to put into our rapidly expanding basket,” she said, adding that Saudi Arabia remains her main focus market followed by the UAE in terms of values and volumes.
Since its launch, Elabelz carries over 4,500 products from more than 70 international brands and targets consumers aged 15-30 years old.
“I am excited, truly excited. Our expansion into Iraq is a significant and ambitious milestone for Elabelz, we are officially the world’s first international e-commerce company that directly caters to the Iraqi market," said Agha.
