Egypt's bourse EGX30 will reopen before the end of this week, the head of the Misr for Central Clearing, Depository and Registry told Reuters on Sunday.

"There is an agreement to return to trading by the end of this week, but the day has not been specified yet," said Mohamed Abdel Salam, head of MCSD.

On Saturday, the finance minister was quoted as saying on the prime minister’s Facebook page the exchange would open before March 28 so it would not be removed from global indices.

The bourse has been shut since January 27. It was closed in the early days of the uprising that swept Hosni Mubarak from the presidency on February 11.
