Dubai shopping mall BurJuman has announced on Sunday the opening of eight new stores.

Balmain has joined top-end designers like Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Burberry in the Bur Dubai-based mall, while top brands Fred Perry and Adidas Originals have opened stores, the retailer said.

Indian brand Mumbai Se and Spanish boutique Bimba & Lola are also available at the mall, as well as La Reine, the mall’s new abaya store and Ever Sheen Cosmetics and
Shenoy Jewelry.

“The opening of eight new outlets not only confirms BurJuman’s wide appeal as a location among retailers but will also leverage our approach to remain one of the favoured malls in Dubai,” said Eisa Adam Ibrahim, general manager, BurJuman.

“In addition, with the roadworks outside the mall complete and immediate accessibility to the Metro Station, visiting BurJuman has become really smooth and easy”, Ibrahim added.

i live 2 mins from burjuman so i use it from time to time. it is dead every time i go in there i think this story is nothing more than a publicity stunt!! any shop opening there will be closed within 12 months unless they have other shops that can float its losses.

I agree. I live in Bur Dubai and close to the Burjaman. I have seen it's steady decline, with a lot of shops on the top floor now standing empty - apart from the fur shops (which, for reasons I cannot fathom manage to remain open (does anyone buy real fur these days and do they wear fur coats in Dubai??) - always stumped me that one. The only new welcome addition is Boots, the Chemist. There is no further need of further designer label shops. The existing ones never have any customers, so why should the new ones have any at unaffordable prices (to the vast majority of the population). Yup, I give them 12 months too.

Great news that 8 stores are opening - interesting that nothing is mentioned about Magrudys closing there about a month ago or all the childrens clothes shops that have also closed their doors in Burjuman. Very brave move by retailers going there - I wish them luck

Glad about the expansion! Fashionable stores at a grandeur mall; Atleast Balmain will be happy about a real store in a real mall! http://blogs.glam.com/glamchic/2009/06/24/fyi-theres-a-fake-balmain-store-in-dubai/
