Emirates Airline said on Wednesday it will build five residential towers in Dubai Silicon Oasis to house its cabin crew.
The 25-storey towers will include a total 669 three-bedroom apartments, as well as six four-bedroom flats, over a total of 1m sq feet.
Each tower also will feature three levels of parking and three retail units over an area of 11,737 sq feet.
The airline already leases 570 Semmer villas within Dubai Silicon Oasis for its captains.
Construction is due to begin in the third quarter of 2013.
They project will house about 2000 cabin crew staff. Emirates, one of the world’s fastest-growing airlines, is recruiting 2700 cabin crew members this year.
Dubai Silicon Oasis is an free zone technology park owned by the government.
Emirates executive vice president Ali Mubarak Al Soori said the development was attractive because of its advanced infrastructure, services and facilities.
“We are keen to build upon the synergy we share with DSO and continue to look at developing residential towers that provide our cabin crew with an ideal housing environment,” he said in a statement.
Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority CEO and deputy chairman Mohammed Al Zarooni said the agreement reaffirmed the two companies’ “solid relationship”
