COMPANY DESCRIPTION
The Kuwaiti logistics giant is involved in everything from air, sea and land freight transportation to warehousing, storage and cargo handling.Founded 30 years ago, the company started out leasing warehouses but soon diversified and in May 2008 became known as Agility Public Warehousing.
Its structure is complex, owning nearly 120 subsidiaries in more than 100 countries. It operates across a broad range of sectors including real estate, military, oil and gas and construction.
During the 2003 invasion of Iraq the firm provided the US military with storage facilities and logistical support in the form of shipping and transport.
The group is currently building a 60,000 sq. m warehouse in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone, due for completion by the second quarter of 2009.
In 1984 the group listed on the Kuwaiti Stock Exchange and in 2006 on the Dubai Financial Market (DFM). In 1997 the government sold all its shares in the company.
