COMPANY DESCRIPTION
The first Bahraini bank, founded in 1957, and a provider of commercial and retail banking services through a nationwide network of 25 branches and 42 ATMs.In 2007 Moody's upgraded the bank's Long-Term Foreign Currency rating to A2 and the Short-Term Rating to P1 with Stable Outlook and reaffirmed the Financial Strength Rating of 'C-'. During 2007 Fitch too upgraded the bank's Long-Term (IDR) to 'A' & Short-Term IDR to 'F1'. Individual rating affirmed at 'B/C', support '1' & revised Support Rating Floor to 'A'.
The bank is rated highest among Bahraini commercial banks and in the top five regionally according to the company's web site.
