  The number of RJ passengers increased by 30% in May, compared to the corresponding month last year, whereas fuel prices grew by 110% over that of May 2007.

• RJ awarded "Airline of the Year 2007" by Air Finance Journal23 June 2008

  Royal Jordanian was granted the "Airline of the Year 2007" award, following a study performed by Air Finance Journal. The journal published an extensive report including an analysis of the reasons RJ deserves the award which is given once a year to the most distinguished and financially efficient airline worldwide.

  Royal Jordanian President/CEO Samer Majali has commenced his one-year term as the Chairman of the IATA Board of Governors according to an announcement made during the 64^th Annual General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), held between June 2 and 3, 2008, in Istanbul, Turkey.

  On June 1, Royal Jordanian, a oneworld member, received an Embraer 175 aircraft given the name Zay - a tourist site in central Jordan.

  RJ transported 210,000 passengers in April, against 175,000 in the same month last year, marking a 19% increase.

• First Airbus A319 joins RJ fleet tomorrow12 March 2008

  Thursday March 13, 2008, witnesses the delivery of Royal Jordanian's first of four Airbus A319, named Al-Mafraq, one of the main cities in northeastern Jordan. RJ, a oneworld member, contracted to introduce this type of aircraft into its fleet during this year and the beginning of next year, in line with its aircraft modernization plan.

• Agreement for leasing 2 Boeing 787 Dreamliner22 January 2008

  An agreement between RJ and CIT Aerospace International, one of the largest aerospace financing and leasing companies, was signed for the operational lease of two Boeing 787s Dreamliner aircraft. RJ's President/CEO Samer Majali and Damon J. D'Agostino, senior vice president and chief sales officer at CIT, signed the contract. Naser Lozi, the chairman of RJ's board of directors, was also present.

• RJ starts operating flights between Amman and Hong Kong on Tuesday20 January 2008

  Royal Jordanian begins operating regular service to Hong Kong as of this Tuesday, passing via the Thai capital, Bangkok, with initial three weekly flights.

• RJ transports 2,141,000 passengers during last 11 months29 December 2007

  The number of passengers RJ transported in the last 11 months increased by 17% over the number during the same period last year.
