How do you describe yourself?

I like to think of myself as a student of life, observer of people and believer in making the most of the present. While I’m grateful for my past experiences as that is what made me who I’m today – I also believe in looking ahead and focus on things I can improve.

What's your greatest achievement in life?

I believe that is yet to come! I am proud to contribute to the success of Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange (DGCX) and the overall development of the derivatives markets in the Middle East. However, I still believe that there is a tremendous potential for growth and that we have a lot more to achieve.

What is the single largest problem facing your industry today?

We live in exciting yet challenging times. Within the financial markets, our biggest concern today is the need for facilitating global risk management and harmonising regulatory rules across the markets.

What virtue do you admire most in other people?

Honesty, integrity and perseverance – I stand by these values and look for these traits in other people.

What inspires you?

It is the yearning to make a difference in the daily lives of people around me. Individuals who are affected by my actions push me to do better.

What is something most people don't know about you?

I love walking as it helps me take out that little time for self-reflection and soul digging.

What's one productivity tip you wish everyone else knew?

Don’t delay things or procrastinate – it doesn’t get you anywhere except in trouble.

What's your biggest luxury in life?

I consider time and good health as the greatest luxuries one can have. Being able to spend quality time with family and enjoying the small pleasures of life is indeed a luxury.

Quote to live your life by?

That which does not kill us makes us stronger - Friedrich Nietzsche.

What advice would you give your 18-year old self?

Be yourself and compete with yourself. Don’t allow setbacks to stop you from doing what you wanted to do in the first place.
