Guests were evacuated from hotel in Doha following a fire in the basement, Qatar Ministry of Interior confirmed on social media at the weekend.
Smoke was seen coming from the top of the 19-story Retaj Al Rayyan Hotel around 3:20pm on Friday, January 15, Doha News reported.
Civil Defence confirmed that the fire started in the basement but was quickly contained by firefighters at the scene.
Retaj Hotels confirmed that some guests had been moved to its other properties, the Retaj Royal Doha and Retaj Inn Marina.
