NMC Health is aiming to become the largest healthcare provider in Oman through expansion and new investment which will provide access to the nation’s 4.4 million citizens.

The company said its expansion in Oman will come via the introduction of cutting-edge healthcare services currently not offered in the nation, as well as through increased specialist medical facilities.

It added that confidence in the country’s growing healthcare sector led it to choose Oman to further its ongoing investment strategy.

Oman's Minister of Health, Dr Ahmed Mohammed Al Saidi, said: "We recognise the contributions made by NMC in the region and welcome them to the sultanate of Oman to bring their global expertise to the communities residing here and more importantly create jobs and healthcare infrastructure in the country."

NMC Health CEO and executive director, Prasanth Manghat, added: “NMC Health is committed to working with the sultanate’s key stakeholders to help foster economic growth through the creation of jobs, economic diversification, as well as the promotion of healthcare tourism to further attract more foreign tourists to the Sultanate and the GCC region.”

He added: “When we look at Oman, we see both a huge potential for investment and an opportunity to help contribute to the GCC region’s continued economic growth. This is an exciting day for NMC Health, but more importantly for the people of Oman, who will soon have world-leading healthcare facilities, services and technology at their doorstep."

NMC Health is the first Abu Dhabi-based company to be listed on the London Stock Exchange. It is also a member of the FTSE 100 Index.
