if you do nto like what they say..

then do not listen to it (or read the book or watch the movie). This may shock some people but you can actually switch off the tv/radio/computer.

I think there is some misunderstanding going on on this subject.

I can tell that most of the people commenting are either not Muslims or they lack the understanding about same sex relationships in the muslim world. What ever you want to do in your own privacy is up to you, but you cannot openly embrace same sex intimacy this way!Its not right becuase its a muslim society. you have to respect that! Its not about bad lyrics guys come on!its about promoting lesbians and gays. Just respect that and please lets just stop making a fuss about the banning of this song. I dont think it should be played if they always beep out the bad lyrics on the rap songs that i hear on the radio. And to the person who made the comment that the rappers are uneducated. You obviously don't know how much work and thought it takes to get something sounding that good as you probably dance to it always.

bad lyrics?

just take a trip into some of the stores in Dubai. Pull & Bear and Milano are two where i recently had to ask the manager to change their music. What was being played was un-cut gangster rap and the words were terrible. Its not the sort of music that people should hear and should be banned from the Arab world. I haven't heard this song but is seems to be no where near as bad as some of the rappers songs. Why is it some artists must swear in their lyrics? Perhaps they are uneducated?

I like the song but i didnt think it was for the Arab world to be honest

Thought it was a very creative piece of art being a writer myself, however my first thought the time i heard it was i couldn't believe it was being embraced by the radio stations in what is still considered a islamic country. I don't think it should be played here to respect the culture. But I did have alot of fun making fun and singing the song to everyone of my friends.

Standards out of balance?

While I support banning of such songs but I fail to understand why ban only this song? Is this the ONLY thing that will have bad influence on local culture? What about all the songs/music in general that is played on these stations? Is that all according to the local culture? Does Islam really allow all that? I just wonder if these stations have any satisfying answers to my these questions. They really need to have some balance in their standards.

Banned for racy lyrics?

Racy Lyrics?! Is this their excuse? influence on the Arab Youth?
People are free to choose what to like and what to not like.

Reading such news really make me feel so sorry for being an Arab. we're living in an open world, internet and satellite.. communication, we can see other cultures very easily.. and still some stupid censors think they can decide for us what to listen to and what's not.

I haven't heard this song yet, but thanks for the censors, I will download the song and promote for it myself.

responsible adults vs Big Brother

Well I have to agree with ALS on this one. There are far worse lyrics being played on radio everyday and you hear those songs loudly from blasting car speakers at night too. The thing is that most non-native english speakers don't understand them because of the slang, pronounciation, etc. You can clearly hear what Katy Perry is saying therefore more people managed to understand her quirky lyrics. Do you really think youths in this country are going to change their orientation just because they heard a sentence in a song?

I believe this song does contravene the Islamic culture....

I believe this song does contravene the Islamic culture and radio and tv stations should be more sensitive. I heard this song last night on the radio and it occurred to me it was very controversial and wondered why they were playing it. No surprise then when I saw this headline.

influencing Arab youths?!?!?!

Ok then....please ban all HipHop/RnB/Rap songs that promote being gangster, having a lot of Bling Bling and loads of girls half naked! Cause if you really listen to the lyrics - they tell you how not to be decent!
