Thaksin is a liar

Thaksin is a liar. I don't understand why the international medias and reporters have listened to all his lies. He doesn't want to come back to Thailand as he knows his corruptions are true and can be proven. When he was the prime minister, he changed the law so that he could sell his company to foreigner (it is a concession company which is not allowed to 100% owned by foreigner). He also changed the tax structure for his company so that his company would not pay taxes while his competitors had to. When he sold his company, he didn't pay tax at all. He used tactics to avoid taxes. Is he deserved to be our prime minister?

For Ratchada land which was sold to his wife while he was the prime minister. His wife won the bid at the price much below the market price. As a prime minister, he should not allow his wife to bid for the land.

When he was prime minister, he abused power by interfering many independent organizations and paying money to many officials so that he can do whatever to benefit himself. When opposition party and senators asked to open the house to examine him on corruption cases, he dissolved parliament to escape the examination.

Many more corruption charges are awaiting for him. If he is sure he is innocent, he needs to come back to prove it. However, he knows all of those evidences are true so he dares not to back to Thailand. The only thing he can do is to lie to the world that Thailand's court is injustice.

One more point I would like to inform you is that he is no longer popular among the rural poors. He may be popular for a certain group but not the majority anymore. His true democracy means only getting majority votes (even buying them). He doesn't care about using power in an ethical and democratic way. He even doesn't want anyone to examine him. How can Thai people accept this kind of person?

Thanksin, are you a man?

How can you claim that all the good things that ever happened in this country here are all your initiative and your effort? You took the office after most of the crisis ruins (except yours, as you made a big fortune from the damage of the country by taking advantage of inside information as the minister of the by-then government to hedge currencies before floating currencyin 1998 took place) been solved and just spent the country reserve to lay down your popular policis for power.
Most of your policies are a hollow framework (dreamworks) and do not have a propered management structure; and even worse, some policies were just a gateway or means of corruptions for your nominee or family memebers and ciphone the money back to your businesses. It is a big lie and it is a conflict of interest!
You never donated a cent of your own money to the public health or any charity foundations. What you claimed were yours are from the goverment budget.
You never think of the well being, happiness and peace of others, the society and the country that has given you the chance to earn so such extreme fortune, even at the moment of happy festive season by hosting your gangsters to build up mob at the parliament house on the New Year Eve, as a measure to overthrow the new government, dreaming that you could come back into power.
Do not under-estimate the rural people, they are poor, and may have less opportunity to receive information but they are not stupid to be fooled around.
You should stop now, take a self assessment and start to live in peace. Do not think that the Thai people are all dumb and less wisdom than yours, you are not a wise man; otherwise you will not be in this position. Do Not blame others but to yourself.
All the above warning are not for yourself or your own good (as you certainly cannot realise), but for your children, because they certainly need a peaceful place to live and longer bright society future than yours.

Thaksin needs medication .....

Megalomania is an unrealistic belief in one's superiority, grandiose abilities, and even omnipotence. It is characterized by a need for total power and control over others, and is marked by a lack of empathy for anything that is perceived as not feeding the self.

Where is Thailand heading?

Taksin may not be perfect, but he was the best prime minister the country has ever seen. Before 2001, the country's leaderships were always weak and incapable with short-live coalition governments who priorities were always short-term. The country never had a vision or strategy to fix things. Being a good politician is not the same as being capable. You can see why Thailand, with all the potentials, was behind the neighboring countries. For the people in the elite society, keeping the rest of the country less developed with less and unequal rights means benefits for them, a small group of people. Obviously, the strategic change brought about by Taksin in the way the country was managed put Thailand on the world map.

People talked about how he brought wealth to himself and family, please study the fact properly, the Shin Corp telecom empire was started, built and became a blue-chip company in Thailand long before he entered politics. Do you know that Thailand has one of the most competitive telecom industries? AIS, part of Shin Corp, was the market right from the beginning and still is today because their services and network quality are the best. If he has really twisted the concessions purely for his own benefit, then how come Thailand has one of the world cheapest consumer mobile services. Didn't all the competitors also benefit from the change in excise tax law? Didn’t more money go into the government coffer instead of feeding the ineffective TOT (concession provider)? Taksin's frozen assets were actually proceeds from sales of his telecom empire in the stock market. Transactions from the stock market are never subject to capital gain tax. His asset was frozen for only one reason, that is to cut the financial mean for the ruling party. Aren't all political parties in the world rely on money and funding? Don’t they all ultimately answer to their contributors, one way or the other? This is the fact of politics and rule of the game, whether you like it or not. It is and will continue to be regardless of who is in power. The more important thing is, is the government better off relatively?

Taksin's polices were good and won the majority of the peoples' heart. You can’t blame the rural people for expressing their preference and for choosing policies that benefit them. Don't the elite like it when government policies mean more money and wealth for them. Rural folks are not as mindless as the riches think. They face more hardship and are more concerned than those who have lots to spare whether things are good or bad. OTOP campaign brought increased wealth for many rural folks. Cases of people using wealth distribution and access to capital schemes for stupid and non-value generating things are there, but I believe they are the minority cases compared to those who actually used it wisely to make a different for their communities and family. No policy implementation is ever perfect but judgment needs to be exercised instead of pure generalisation for the benefits of creating a sensation. Initiatives like these have the impact of changing the wealth distribution and ultimately disturbed the elite class people.

Schemes and plan were laid out to reverse this trend involving people in the elite class, military, etc. If you look at the way Thai laws are written, it is designed to subjective interpretation of those in power (the courts are never fair because they do answer to the invisible hand of Thailand’s supreme and that is the reason why TRT party was dissolved, why Democrats survive the verdict. Similar case of PPP being dissolved and again Democrat’s survival in recent verdict. You think Democrat’s party executive wasn't breaching the vote buying law? Study the case carefully. Like I said, Taksin is no angel but where is fairness in the law? Even if he has used the power for his government but wouldn’t Thailand be better off if fairness is exercised. You don’t be what you despise. Otherwise, the vicious cycle of the recent Red and Yellow camps will never end. The country will continue to be divided. It is convenient to blame one man for everything but look at what the military, PAD, court has done. Are what they did make Thailand better. It is just one power group to another. The difference is one has far better benefits for the mass and the other is the elite. Everybody is entitled to their views but I firmly believe that for a country to prosper, it means the majority of people are better off.
Just look at the 2007 military-induced constitution and some of the clauses. It is part of overall scheme to bring Thailand back to the days where the elites gain the most. Very soon, we will have a partially appointed parliament and government run by appointees. The new rules under the constitution that were put in place will very soon come back to bite those that are about to be in power, the Democrats and elite. If Thailand can be better off where wealth is concentrated, then we would have prospered long ago in the 50s. For me, it is fine which ever government runs the country, as long as they are elected by the majority under the same rules for all. But this doesn’t include one that is put in place using all means to get in power: military coup, judicial coup, and changing the 1997 people’s constitution, use of mob-rules.

Modern management from Thaksin

Thaksin claimed to have brought modern management to the government but in fact what he brought is management that have won him government concession to do business without a competitor. He got very rich from the monopoly communication bussiness. Anyone with an average IQ would be as successful, if not more.

Role Model

As a politician Thaksin is not a good role model for most people in Thailand.

We saw that various times. As a PM and leader of a country you have to be a very calm and good diplomat and be ready to do do compromise on various levels. Not always try to have it your way and even worse punish regions and provinces (local politicians who thought other then he did) if they don't agree with you.

And mostly not drag your own business into politics, and amend laws plus use political trips to foreign countries (mainly Myanmar + Cambodia) to foster your business there.

Nobody who understands the processes logics of above, could ever accept Thaksin in Politics (either as PM or financier of any party) here in Thailand again.

It's also for his own personality best to remain in business areas (without politics) only.

But unfortunately Thaksin voes to come back once again. And the troubles will start all over again.

Please Mr. Thaksin let Thailand move on without you in politics.

Thai health care

It is amazing that Thaksin takes credit for a great health care system for the poor in Thailand and even offers his same expertise to his new hosts. Come visit the Thai healthcare system before seeking his help. What he did was to socialize all public healthcare, but without enough money, so the public healthcare system is dying. The doctors are leaving to go work inprivate hospitals. The public hospital waiting rooms are always very crowded with long waits. All because Mr. T drained out all the money. Everyone who can goes to private hospitals and pays a lot, but they happily avoid the public hospitals that Mr. T's "management" has destroyed.

UK froze his reputed $4bn of assets

Your article says: "The UK froze his reputed $4bn of assets, forcing him to sell Manchester City to Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Mansour".

UK, also froze his assets?? On what grounds? This is shocking and never revealed in the Thai press, or elswhere. Where does this come from as England must have had some good reason to do this, in addition to pulling his UK visa.

Immoral Prime Minister

I admit that Taksin Shinawatra is a very clever and great in business. As a businessman, he added more value to his owns business and survised the ecomonic crisis in 1997 while the whole country collaped. And he has proved that his ability in running the business is no equivalent by breach the law i.e. the Conflict of Interest. No doubt that he can do anything for returning to his power in Thailand without being ashamed for bringing disater to our country.
