Obama bowing

I would like to say to Geriant, Sabrina and Abdulla Hamdani how would you feel if it was the other way around? Presidant Obama should never have bowed to the King, if anything would have been appropriate a nod of the head to a equal as is the custom of the Japanese would have been sufficient in his eagerness to gain approval from the world President Obama is failing to be the leader that America needs.

You've Got it All Wrong

The reason why we Americans are so worried about this new Obama slip-up is because there is already uncertainty regarding Obama's true religious preferences. He said he was Christian...but his closed door policy on any of his background information (birth certificate, schooling, etc) is making for some good fodder. Why wont he just come forth with his birth certificate to settle the matter? hmm...

Obama Bowing to King

The American media is typical of Zionist cry-baby, turmoil-mongering fuss about Obama bowing to King. What is the big deal? I have seen Queen of England and the Kings of EU bow? Go get them!

Practice humility

Obama has shown us nothing but dignity, poise and all the other virtues we have come to associate with him. Real leadership is not about prestige, power or status, it is about responsibility, and as a responsible and great leader he has been able to define reality in the true sense of the word by showing humility.

So quit making a major upheaval over a trivial issue and concentrate on becoming aware of his better qualities.

Age still carries respect in some quarters

All the mindless fuss about Obama bowing to the very frail, old and nominally respected Saudi king should have nothing to do with the king's hold on oil but more on Obama's grasp of respect for elders. Saudi Arabia is dependent on the US for its survival on all levels and the king knows this. But allowing the much, much younger and newly-installed president to bow to him in a form of ritual greeting hardly merits the debate. Had the king said during the fateful bow "while you are down there amidst the thobe, see if you can find the Bushes, haven't heard from them for months" then that might have caused an uproar worth worrying about.

President Obama showed he is a great human-being!

The Bible says that pride comes before destruction. It is great for all Americans to see their leader showing the human side of the mankind by demonstrating a great character trait called Humility. Vanity and ego always pushes us to behave arrogant that not only alienate us from the rest of the mankind but from the Lord also. I am an American and I feel very proud of Obama, he is not only a great leader but also a great human being. Lord blesses him.

very shallow fuss

i don't think anyone without a narrow mind would find the President's gesture inappropriate or making himself less formidable. That part of social grace he has is a testament to the fact that he is indeed a genuine-hearted person, polite, and humble. Besides, the Saudi King is a known conservative type of a leader (he is a muslim) and a lot older than the US President, the way Pres. Obama conducted himself is just as appropriate as he handshakes with the rest of country leaders. So, stop the fuss and find a real worthwhile topic to talk about.

OBAMA'S BOW

This is clearly silly and immature gesture on part of President Obama. He must learn to conduct himself with more dignity and aplomb. Presidents, or Prime Ministers do not have to bow down in this manner. A President represents his country, not himself. Some urgent protocol training for Obama is critically required.

Presidential Bow

I think the Media are making a big deal out of nothing. If you see different videos from Mr. Obama this kind if respect is his normal attitude and everyone has its own habits to greet people.

The media is too sensetive regarding this issue.

Presidential Bow

Hi,

I agree & think that the Media has the knack of exaggerating the truth rather than show it in good spirit. There are bigger problems in today's economic times to deal with & a respectable bow is not the thing to be discussing in great length.

Yes, it may or may not be the right thing to do politically but who's to say. That doesn't make a person any less important or greater. Mr. Obama is not worshipping the Saudi King, he was only respecting him. In my country younger people are accustomed to touching the feet of older people no matter who they are. Politics is not everything nor does it decide your character....so please get a life.

Melodramatic and Sensationalized!

In my opinion, the media is going to focus on every little thing about Obama and his family. I say this because Obama is the first black president of the US as we all know that, and it is basically “too good to be true” for some people. Therefore the media is going to try and prove that at all costs.

“A Washington-based paper suggested that Obama is "Proving that one can be elected president without knowing how to behave presidentially. In his eagerness to be loved personally, the president has lost sight of the fact that the leader of the free world also must be respected."”

Who decides presidential behaviour? In my opinion, it is the president him self. He is different and he is uniquely special, therefore, I do not think that people should expect him to perform according to traditional norms and values. He is going to do something different, and he is here to make changes, so I would ask that people sit back, relax, and learn from him instead of slamming him. Obama has already made history, let him make more of it in his own friendly and charming way.

I would greatly appreciate that readers think through before replying and either agree or disagree with me in a formal manner. I do want to see if people have other views and am excited to learn from them.
